The Founder Behind Kunkwan

Kunkwan was founded by Mr Kent Ng Kun Kwan, an educator who turned his personal learning struggles into a system that has helped hundreds of thousands of non-Mandarin speakers succeed.

Since 2013, he has built Kunkwan into one of the most recognised international online Mandarin training platforms, reaching over 450,000 learners worldwide.

Mr Kent is internationally recognised as a Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World (TOYP) 2025 award recipient and a Ten Outstanding Young Malaysians (TOYM) 2023 honouree — placing him among the world’s most impactful young leaders in education and cross-cultural development.

With over 15 years of experience, he has trained learners across diverse backgrounds and worked with leading organisations. Today, he continues to lead Kunkwan with a clear mission — to make Mandarin practical, accessible, and achievable for non-Mandarin speakers worldwide.
