Agnes Laoshi was very enthusiastic and always gave students opportunities to speak, gently correcting us in a soft and easy tone. She makes sure everyone understands the meaning and never teaches too fast. One memorable moment was learning the word “nǚ’ér” (daughter). She patiently corrected me because saying it wrong would change the meaning completely! We also tried singing the Rasa Sayang song using numbers, which was hilarious since we were out of tune, but thankfully we got it right in the end. I’m able to understand simple Mandarin conversations when speakers talk slowly, which is amazing for me as a CIC level student since I rarely get to speak Mandarin every day. I’m proud of my progress, now I can relate some words I learned while watching dramas, even if I sometimes struggle with tones. Agnes Laoshi, xie xie nin for everything from start to finish. You always give students the chance to try, stay patient, and keep the class motivated, even when the energy is low at first. Thanks to you, the class always ends up lively and fun!

The class is very interactive, and Ain lǎoshī is supportive. My first time writing and learning Chinese was challenging, but it helped me understand the language better. With more practice, it could even help in my career. Learning Mandarin is challenging but motivating, and I’m encouraged to continue. Our Mandarin class is fun and interactive, with Bunga Lǎoshī providing constant support and encouragement. Her lessons focus on real-life situations, so we can apply what we learn immediately. My most memorable moment was making a buyer-seller presentation. Bunga Lǎoshī made it easy to follow, and I laughed a lot at my funny mistakes. Learning Mandarin has helped me understand simple conversations, communicate with friends, and even improve my memory and focus. Each lesson feels meaningful and rewarding, and I feel proud of my progress. Xiexie Bunga Lǎoshī for making every class fun and easy to understand. Your patience and encouragement really boosted my confidence, and I’ll truly miss your class!

Supportive lǎoshī . Fatimah lǎoshī is always there to answer my questions, and both she and Angel Yeeling are super supportive, correcting me whenever needed. I really enjoy Gōngkè time and the role-playing exercises, they help me remember things easily. I can now understand simple questions, and although I’m still at an early stage, learning Mandarin helps me start understanding my clients and other Mandarin speakers. It is challenging, but with the support of laoshimen and classmates, I’m proud that I can construct simple sentences now. I would like to thank Fatimah lǎoshī and Angel Yeeling for their guidance, and Kent lǎoshī as well. Feichangganxie Fatimah lǎoshī and Angel Yeeling, and sorry for asking questions late sometimes, you always reply with clear explanations!

Our Mandarin class is full of energy and interaction, making learning both fun and effective. Bunga lǎoshī is very supportive and creates a comfortable environment where everyone feels confident to speak and make mistakes. One interesting memory was when we played a vocabulary game in class. Everyone became super competitive, and the classroom was full of laughter, making recalling new words exciting and easier. The Mandarin class with Izzati Laoshi provides a very fun and supportive learning environment, with people from different backgrounds and ages encouraging me to practice the language. One of the most interesting experiences was learning how to have proper conversations in Mandarin and actually practicing them in real-life situations. I’m slowly starting to understand conversations and gain confidence to reply and join in. Learning Mandarin has been challenging but fun, and I’m happy with my progress. The class is always interactive, with lots of ways to engage students, and the lessons are always related to real-life situations, which makes learning enjoyable.

I love how fun she is when teaching, and how she explains things so well with great enthusiasm. One of my most memorable experiences was taking the HSK exam for the first time and feeling so nervous, but everyone was very welcoming and never made fun of mistakes. Learning Mandarin has helped me gain confidence to speak with my Chinese friends, and I believe it will also help me get better job opportunities in the future. Although it can be challenging and tough, it’s all worth it, and the journey of learning Mandarin has been truly spectacular. One wow factor of my Mandarin class is how interactive and fun the lessons are, with games, role plays, and real-life scenarios. I also love how we explore Chinese culture, which makes learning more exciting and meaningful. My most interesting memory was gaining new friends through Mandarin and feeling really proud when I wrote my own script, spoke confidently, and created a video using what I learned. I knew nothing about Mandarin at first, and I realized self-learning wasn’t enough. I needed a proper platform, which is how I found Kunkwan. I got to meet new friends from various backgrounds and laoshi who are very helpful and supportive. Learning Mandarin at Kunkwan is really fun. One of my most interesting experiences was an assignment that required speaking with a Chinese friend. I felt shy at first, afraid of making mistakes in pronunciation, but my friends were very helpful, correcting me like native speakers and teaching me new vocabulary useful for real-life conversations. I think Mandarin is very important, as China and Malaysia are trading partners, so learning it helps me understand conversations better in both business and personal contexts. It also helps me enjoy my favourite Mandarin songs more easily. I feel grateful to be part of the Kunkwan community and always look forward to the next class. Agnes Laoshi really recognizes students’ improvement in pronunciation and values our effort in class. She is very supportive, makes the lessons interactive, and always encourages participation. I enjoyed taking part in dialogues during class, and she patiently corrected our pronunciation, especially with Hanyu Pinyin, which helped me realize that Mandarin is a very straightforward language. After learning with her, I’m able to understand basic conversations in Mandarin, even though I’m not fluent yet. It has boosted my confidence, especially when interacting with Chinese customers, and I’ve even started watching Mandarin movies to improve my listening and pronunciation. Classes with Bunga lǎoshī were enjoyable and fun! We were asked to participate in questioning and answering, making every class truly interactive. In the tourism field, communication skills are important, and learning Mandarin has made me more confident to communicate. Mandarin is known to be difficult, and miscommunication often happens, but learning it has helped me break down communication barriers and better understand how Mandarin speakers communicate. It’s such an honour to have Bunga lǎoshī as our Level A teacher. She is kind, patient, understanding, and supportive, making sure students were not intimidated by the complexity of the language. I will forever remember her as the person who made me fall in love with HànYǔ!
