I really had fun learning Mandarin with Agnes Laoshi, even though it was a new environment for me. One of my favourite moments was reading the text in the notes with other students. I can now speak a little bit of Mandarin with my Chinese classmates. Learning Mandarin has been challenging, especially with tones, but now I’m able to say them correctly. Minqi Laoshi fosters a supportive and enjoyable learning environment. Her dedication shows in the way she personally corrects my pronunciation via WhatsApp recordings, helping me learn with confidence and accuracy. One of my most memorable experiences was sitting for an exam alongside much younger students. Even though we were at different stages of life, the nervousness felt just like my university days. I picked up Mandarin as a way to stay busy, reading and learning new words, and it also makes it easier to connect with my Chinese friends, even though I still have a long way to go. Learning Mandarin isn’t easy, but it’s very rewarding. I learn new words and sentences each week, and I’m excited for the day I can understand and speak it well, making conversations much more fun. The class with Agnes Laoshi was interactive and fun, with a friendly, supportive, and funny laoshi 🙂 It was my first time learning Mandarin in a group setting, and I really enjoyed it. Learning with Minqi Laoshi since Level A has been such a fun journey! She is very friendly and engaging throughout the class, and even outside class, she supports any questions we have about the Mandarin language. One of my proudest moments was writing a full sentence in Pinyin with accurate tones. The role-playing sessions were entertaining and funny, especially when some of us brought props to act out the scenarios. I’m now able to understand general conversations in daily life, which has boosted my confidence as I love learning languages. I’ve got a very supportive and friendly Izzati Laoshi, and I can follow her teaching pace, which helps me understand and apply all the knowledge to complete my gongke. I can even use Mandarin in real life for small conversations with my friends. After finishing the CIC class, I can watch Chinese dramas and understand a little of the dialogue, which makes me excited to learn more. Learning Mandarin has improved my memory and focus, and even helped me heal from anxiety and MDD, as I took this class to improve myself and train my focus. It also helped me build confidence to have conversations with my Chindian friends. Overall, the journey has been meaningful, motivating, and I’m grateful for the opportunity. Classes with Bunga lǎoshī were enjoyable and fun! We were asked to participate in questioning and answering, making every class truly interactive. In the tourism field, communication skills are important, and learning Mandarin has made me more confident to communicate. Mandarin is known to be difficult, and miscommunication often happens, but learning it has helped me break down communication barriers and better understand how Mandarin speakers communicate. It’s such an honour to have Bunga lǎoshī as our Level A teacher. She is kind, patient, understanding, and supportive, making sure students were not intimidated by the complexity of the language. I will forever remember her as the person who made me fall in love with HànYǔ!

I like that Ain lǎoshī always entertains my questions outside class hours, even on her day off, and responds with great explanations. For homework, I interviewed Chinese friends in Mandarin, and I also understand more while watching Chinese dramas. I feel proud of myself, doing something meaningful as I’m retired. I like the way Ain lǎoshī communicates with students—she explains until we understand. Keep it up, laoshi. Love you!

Cloris Laoshi’s teaching is at a great pace, encouraging, fun, and interactive. Making new friends and learning something totally new made the class enjoyable. I can now understand customers better, build rapport with Chinese clients, and gain more trust and prospects. I regret not joining earlier! Thank you, Cloris Laoshi, for your dedication.
