Bunga lǎoshī is very supportive and creates a comfortable environment where everyone feels confident to speak and make mistakes. One interesting memory was when we played a vocabulary game in class. Everyone became super competitive, and the classroom was full of laughter, making recalling new words exciting and easier. Learning Mandarin has helped me understand simple conversations, communicate better with friends, and enjoy Chinese dramas and songs more. Overall, learning Mandarin has been challenging but rewarding, and I feel proud of my progress and motivated to keep learning. I really enjoyed my Mandarin classes with Bunga Laoshi because of the interactive and fun learning environment. She was very kind, supportive, and made efforts to accommodate all her students, definitely the wow factors for me. My most interesting memories were the practical assignments and written assessments, which challenged me to speak more and break the ice with classmates, even making me a bit nervous during exams. Learning Mandarin has improved my memory and helped me understand Chinese conversations better. I feel it’s fun to learn a new language, and I’m proud of the progress I’ve made at my own pace. I love the way Agnes Laoshi explains the lessons, everything is easy to understand. I managed to count from 1 to 10 in Chinese and memorized it. Since I meet a lot of Chinese speakers at work, learning Mandarin has become really important for me. I love the class and hope to become fluent in both conversation and writing. I also wish Agnes Laoshi could continue teaching me in the next level class!

Supportive lǎoshī . Fatimah lǎoshī is always there to answer my questions, and both she and Angel Yeeling are super supportive, correcting me whenever needed. I really enjoy Gōngkè time and the role-playing exercises, they help me remember things easily. I can now understand simple questions, and although I’m still at an early stage, learning Mandarin helps me start understanding my clients and other Mandarin speakers. It is challenging, but with the support of laoshimen and classmates, I’m proud that I can construct simple sentences now. I would like to thank Fatimah lǎoshī and Angel Yeeling for their guidance, and Kent lǎoshī as well. I thought learning Mandarin would be stressful, but the class with Minqi Laoshi turned out to be really fun and engaging. The role plays and interactive approach made it easier to understand the concepts instead of just memorising, and she made sure everyone followed along, which really helped. The role-playing sessions were my favourite, acting out real-life scenarios helped me practise naturally and remember how to use the right sentence structures in context. Passing my HSK1 exam gave me confidence that I can continue learning, and it also helps me appreciate different cultures more deeply. I can now start basic conversations with Mandarin speakers around me. I feel excited and motivated, even though Mandarin isn’t easy, I enjoy the challenge. Understanding how the grammar works instead of just memorising makes me feel like I’m building a solid foundation to go further. Learning alongside classmates from different backgrounds made every class interesting and supportive. I’m very grateful to Minqi Laoshi for always making the lessons clear and enjoyable, and I’m looking forward to continuing my Mandarin journey.

I love how fun she is when teaching, and how she explains things so well with great enthusiasm. One of my most memorable experiences was taking the HSK exam for the first time and feeling so nervous, but everyone was very welcoming and never made fun of mistakes. Bunga Laoshi is very patient and always engages with every student in class. The syllabus is full of useful information, and it really helps to practice through homework. Learning Mandarin has been helpful for me as I can now understand my work colleagues when they speak simple sentences. One of the challenges is finding someone to practice with, so I usually plan earlier with my partner, and I feel more confident taking exams when I’m well prepared. I can understand simple questions and replies, and I also make an effort to improve my listening skills by following Mandarin content and listening to Chinese songs to learn pronunciation. As I progress through the levels, I feel a strong sense of achievement, even though it gets more challenging and requires more effort and focus. I’m also thankful to be learning at Kunkwan because of the rich resources and fun events they organise. Bunga Laoshi always encourages participation and is very supportive of everyone’s effort, and I truly hope she continues to teach more students as she is knowledgeable and relatable.
