Classes with Bunga lǎoshī were enjoyable and fun! We were asked to participate in questioning and answering, making every class truly interactive. In the tourism field, communication skills are important, and learning Mandarin has made me more confident to communicate. Mandarin is known to be difficult, and miscommunication often happens, but learning it has helped me break down communication barriers and better understand how Mandarin speakers communicate. It’s such an honour to have Bunga lǎoshī as our Level A teacher. She is kind, patient, understanding, and supportive, making sure students were not intimidated by the complexity of the language. I will forever remember her as the person who made me fall in love with HànYǔ!

Learning with Bunga Laoshi has helped me apply the lessons to real-life situations. The grammar and vocabulary I learned have really improved my Mandarin communication. One of the most fun aspects was making funny mistakes and laughing together, which also helped me remember the grammar points better. I can now understand simple sentences in daily conversations and grasp the basics of what is being said, which inspires me to learn even more. I love learning Mandarin, it has been a fun journey, and I’m looking forward to becoming fluent in the near future. Thank you, Bunga Laoshi, for making the class enjoyable and relaxing. Initially, I didn’t know what to expect, and thought online classrooms might feel quiet, but thanks to friendly Ika lǎoshī, we quickly opened up. The teaching pace was just right, and we had so much fun in the bargaining role-play. Even when I forgot a line, I could improvise, and Ika lǎoshī was patient and supportive. I can understand simple conversations if spoken slowly, and I hope to keep improving, maybe by watching Chinese dramas or taking the HSK 1 exam. Learning Mandarin can be difficult, especially online, but Ika lǎoshī makes it fun and encourages us to enjoy the process despite pronunciation or grammar mistakes. I really enjoyed learning Mandarin with Ain Laoshi. She is friendly and kind, and I learn new words every day. I get to practise speaking Mandarin in class, often doing assignments with classmates. I can now understand a little when Chinese people speak and even enjoy listening to Chinese music. Learning is fun, and I love it! Our Mandarin class is full of energy and interaction, making learning both fun and effective. Agnes Laoshi was very enthusiastic and always gave students opportunities to speak, gently correcting us in a soft and easy tone. She makes sure everyone understands the meaning and never teaches too fast. One memorable moment was learning the word “nǚ’ér” (daughter). She patiently corrected me because saying it wrong would change the meaning completely! We also tried singing the Rasa Sayang song using numbers, which was hilarious since we were out of tune, but thankfully we got it right in the end. I’m able to understand simple Mandarin conversations when speakers talk slowly, which is amazing for me as a CIC level student since I rarely get to speak Mandarin every day. I’m proud of my progress, now I can relate some words I learned while watching dramas, even if I sometimes struggle with tones. Agnes Laoshi, xie xie nin for everything from start to finish. You always give students the chance to try, stay patient, and keep the class motivated, even when the energy is low at first. Thanks to you, the class always ends up lively and fun!

I love how fun she is when teaching, and how she explains things so well with great enthusiasm. One of my most memorable experiences was taking the HSK exam for the first time and feeling so nervous, but everyone was very welcoming and never made fun of mistakes. Learning Mandarin has helped me gain confidence to speak with my Chinese friends, and I believe it will also help me get better job opportunities in the future. Although it can be challenging and tough, it’s all worth it, and the journey of learning Mandarin has been truly spectacular. You’re my favourite Mandarin Kunkwan laoshi, Bunga Laoshi, and I’ll really miss having classes with you. I hope God blesses you in many ways.

Learning with Minqi Laoshi since Level A has been such a fun journey! She is very friendly and engaging throughout the class, and even outside class, she supports any questions we have about the Mandarin language. One of my proudest moments was writing a full sentence in Pinyin with accurate tones. The role-playing sessions were entertaining and funny, especially when some of us brought props to act out the scenarios. I’m now able to understand general conversations in daily life, which has boosted my confidence as I love learning languages. Learning Mandarin with Minqi Laoshi has been a rewarding experience, and I truly appreciate all the effort she puts into helping us learn. I’m happy to learn new things with such a great laoshi, Ain Laoshi, and I always loved it when laoshi picked my name to read in class as it gave me the chance to practice my pronunciation. As a retiree, I enjoy learning Mandarin to spend my time meaningfully, and now I can even understand what the hero in Chinese dramas is saying 😁 Learning Mandarin can be quite challenging, but it’s also fun because I can use many things around me as learning tools. Learning in Kunkwan is very fun and relaxing, as the laoshi always keeps students engaged and patiently answers our questions to make sure we understand.
