Learning Mandarin is fun, and making funny mistakes, like how to pronounce pinyin. Made the class enjoyable. I’m now able to talk a little with my mainland colleague, which is exciting. I hope I can continue learning Mandarin with you in Level A, Fatimah lǎoshī.

The class is very interactive, and Ain lǎoshī is supportive. My first time writing and learning Chinese was challenging, but it helped me understand the language better. With more practice, it could even help in my career. Learning Mandarin is challenging but motivating, and I’m encouraged to continue. I like that Ain lǎoshī always entertains my questions outside class hours, even on her day off, and responds with great explanations. For homework, I interviewed Chinese friends in Mandarin, and I also understand more while watching Chinese dramas. I feel proud of myself, doing something meaningful as I’m retired. I like the way Ain lǎoshī communicates with students—she explains until we understand. Keep it up, laoshi. Love you!

I thought learning Mandarin would be stressful, but the class with Minqi Laoshi turned out to be really fun and engaging. The role plays and interactive approach made it easier to understand the concepts instead of just memorising, and she made sure everyone followed along, which really helped. The role-playing sessions were my favourite, acting out real-life scenarios helped me practise naturally and remember how to use the right sentence structures in context. Passing my HSK1 exam gave me confidence that I can continue learning, and it also helps me appreciate different cultures more deeply. I can now start basic conversations with Mandarin speakers around me. I feel excited and motivated, even though Mandarin isn’t easy, I enjoy the challenge. Understanding how the grammar works instead of just memorising makes me feel like I’m building a solid foundation to go further. Learning alongside classmates from different backgrounds made every class interesting and supportive. I’m very grateful to Minqi Laoshi for always making the lessons clear and enjoyable, and I’m looking forward to continuing my Mandarin journey.

Learning Mandarin can be quite difficult, but Izzati Laoshi turns every lesson into an adventure with engaging conversation practices that keep us excited to learn. One of my most interesting memories was completing an assignment where I had to find a Chinese friend and even bargain in Mandarin, which was a fun and practical way to build my confidence. Our Mandarin class is fun and interactive, with Bunga Lǎoshī providing constant support and encouragement. Her lessons focus on real-life situations, so we can apply what we learn immediately. I really enjoyed my Mandarin classes with Bunga Laoshi because of the interactive and fun learning environment. She was very kind, supportive, and made efforts to accommodate all her students, definitely the wow factors for me. My most interesting memories were the practical assignments and written assessments, which challenged me to speak more and break the ice with classmates, even making me a bit nervous during exams. I love how Ain lǎoshī handles the class in a fun and structured way, with a clear voice, always smiling, friendly, and using simple sentences that are easy to understand. Memorising the Self Introduction assignment helped me remember the dialogue and speak confidently in front of others. I can now say a few sentences in Mandarin and understand a bit when people speak it. The class is fun and challenging, and for the next level, I’ll definitely enroll in Ain lǎoshī’s class again because of the happy and friendly environment and her excellent Mandarin skills.

Supportive lǎoshī . Fatimah lǎoshī is always there to answer my questions, and both she and Angel Yeeling are super supportive, correcting me whenever needed. I really enjoy Gōngkè time and the role-playing exercises, they help me remember things easily. I can now understand simple questions, and although I’m still at an early stage, learning Mandarin helps me start understanding my clients and other Mandarin speakers. It is challenging, but with the support of laoshimen and classmates, I’m proud that I can construct simple sentences now. I would like to thank Fatimah lǎoshī and Angel Yeeling for their guidance, and Kent lǎoshī as well. I’m happy to learn new things with such a great laoshi, Ain Laoshi, and I always loved it when laoshi picked my name to read in class as it gave me the chance to practice my pronunciation. As a retiree, I enjoy learning Mandarin to spend my time meaningfully, and now I can even understand what the hero in Chinese dramas is saying 😁 Learning Mandarin can be quite challenging, but it’s also fun because I can use many things around me as learning tools. What impressed me most during my Mandarin class with Ika Laoshi were her well-paced lessons, step-by-step guidance, and patience in teaching. One of my most memorable experiences was preparing for the role play assignment and performing it, along with the funny mistakes I made throughout the classes. Learning Mandarin has helped me understand simple conversations better as I’m able to catch some vocabulary and get the gist of what is being said. It also indirectly helps me build better relationships with my clients, as they can see my effort and become more open with me, especially the uncles and aunties. Although it has been challenging, I’m proud of my progress as I can now hold simple conversations and understand basic Mandarin.
