I love learning real-life phrases that I can use in daily conversations, and the teaching pace is comfortable for beginners. My most memorable moment was taking my first HSK1 exam and getting full marks, even though I started learning Mandarin at 40 with no background, it gave me a lot of confidence and motivated me to continue. Learning Mandarin has helped me understand simple conversations, communicate with native speakers, enjoy Mandarin songs, and improved my memory and confidence. I feel happy, excited, and proud of my progress, and I am motivated to keep learning. I thought learning Mandarin would be stressful, but the class with Minqi Laoshi turned out to be really fun and engaging. The role plays and interactive approach made it easier to understand the concepts instead of just memorising, and she made sure everyone followed along, which really helped. The role-playing sessions were my favourite, acting out real-life scenarios helped me practise naturally and remember how to use the right sentence structures in context. Passing my HSK1 exam gave me confidence that I can continue learning, and it also helps me appreciate different cultures more deeply. I can now start basic conversations with Mandarin speakers around me. I feel excited and motivated, even though Mandarin isn’t easy, I enjoy the challenge. Understanding how the grammar works instead of just memorising makes me feel like I’m building a solid foundation to go further. Learning alongside classmates from different backgrounds made every class interesting and supportive. I’m really glad to get to know Bunga Laoshi. Her teaching is fun, and I can understand the lessons much better, xiexie! I can now speak a bit of Mandarin with my friends and understand some of the way native speakers talk. Learning at Kunkwan has also helped me enjoy Chinese dramas more, as I can now watch some without relying too much on subtitles. I truly enjoy learning Mandarin, and the teachers at Kunkwan are very patient and always manage to catch my attention during classes. I really appreciate Bunga Laoshi for teaching me all this while! The comprehension and understanding I receive in class with Agnes Laoshi goes deeper than usual. The pacing of the lectures is just right, on schedule without delays. I’ve learned that people from different walks of life share the same goal, even with age differences, we all want to improve together. I’m now able to understand Mandarin speakers better, which allows me to connect with their world as they connect with mine. I love how Ain lǎoshī handles the class in a fun and structured way, with a clear voice, always smiling, friendly, and using simple sentences that are easy to understand. Memorising the Self Introduction assignment helped me remember the dialogue and speak confidently in front of others. I can now say a few sentences in Mandarin and understand a bit when people speak it. The class is fun and challenging, and for the next level, I’ll definitely enroll in Ain lǎoshī’s class again because of the happy and friendly environment and her excellent Mandarin skills.

Agnes lǎoshī’s pronunciation is very clear, and she helped us pronounce Mandarin words properly. I always found Mandarin pronunciation complex and difficult, but she made it easier and fun. I loved singing during class, which also helped us pronounce words faster. I can now understand basic conversations and a few lines from Mandarin TV dramas, and I hope to visit my friend in Beijing someday. Learning Mandarin under Agnes lǎoshī has been much easier, and I feel lucky to have her as my teacher. She is very friendly and engaging throughout the class, and even outside class, she supports any questions we have about the Mandarin language. One of my proudest moments was writing a full sentence in Pinyin with accurate tones. Agnes Laoshi was very enthusiastic and always gave students opportunities to speak, gently correcting us in a soft and easy tone. She makes sure everyone understands the meaning and never teaches too fast. One memorable moment was learning the word “nǚ’ér” (daughter). She patiently corrected me because saying it wrong would change the meaning completely! We also tried singing the Rasa Sayang song using numbers, which was hilarious since we were out of tune, but thankfully we got it right in the end. I’m able to understand simple Mandarin conversations when speakers talk slowly, which is amazing for me as a CIC level student since I rarely get to speak Mandarin every day. I’m proud of my progress, now I can relate some words I learned while watching dramas, even if I sometimes struggle with tones. Agnes Laoshi, xie xie nin for everything from start to finish. You always give students the chance to try, stay patient, and keep the class motivated, even when the energy is low at first. Thanks to you, the class always ends up lively and fun!

I love how fun she is when teaching, and how she explains things so well with great enthusiasm. One of my most memorable experiences was taking the HSK exam for the first time and feeling so nervous, but everyone was very welcoming and never made fun of mistakes.
