I really enjoyed my Mandarin classes with Bunga Laoshi because of the interactive and fun learning environment. She was very kind, supportive, and made efforts to accommodate all her students, definitely the wow factors for me. My most interesting memories were the practical assignments and written assessments, which challenged me to speak more and break the ice with classmates, even making me a bit nervous during exams. Learning Mandarin has improved my memory and helped me understand Chinese conversations better. I feel it’s fun to learn a new language, and I’m proud of the progress I’ve made at my own pace. I really appreciate how Izzati Laoshi constantly checks our understanding throughout the class, corrects our pronunciation, and reminds us about tones while guiding us step by step. She always encourages us to construct sentences and gently corrects us, which helps reinforce grammar in a very supportive way. As an older learner, I used to be afraid of making mistakes, but KunKwan provides a safe and comfortable environment to learn from them. Even though the classes are online, they are still very interactive and engaging. The learning experience also reminds me of my Nihongo days, especially when memorizing characters, and I find it fun how Hanzi is taught in a more visual and engaging way. One of my most memorable experiences was completing an assignment where I had to interview a stranger, which turned out to be both challenging and rewarding. Learning Mandarin has helped me in daily situations like shopping or visiting the hospital, and I now enjoy understanding signages and picking up conversations around me, even though people speak very fast! Overall, learning Mandarin has been meaningful as it allows better connection and understanding with others in Malaysia. I’m also very grateful for KunKwan’s flexibility and support, especially during difficult times, and truly appreciate the dedicated teachers like Izzati Laoshi who make this journey so worthwhile.

The comprehension and understanding I receive in class with Agnes Laoshi goes deeper than usual. The pacing of the lectures is just right, on schedule without delays. I’ve learned that people from different walks of life share the same goal, even with age differences, we all want to improve together. I’m now able to understand Mandarin speakers better, which allows me to connect with their world as they connect with mine. It’s like solving a puzzle I’m eager to understand, take apart, improve, and integrate into my life. Having multiple languages is a key to growth, whether in my career or relationships, and it truly makes me a better person. Agnes Laoshi is simply adorable and teaches at the perfect pace. I’ve got a very supportive and friendly Izzati Laoshi, and I can follow her teaching pace, which helps me understand and apply all the knowledge to complete my gongke. I can even use Mandarin in real life for small conversations with my friends. After finishing the CIC class, I can watch Chinese dramas and understand a little of the dialogue, which makes me excited to learn more. Learning Mandarin has improved my memory and focus, and even helped me heal from anxiety and MDD, as I took this class to improve myself and train my focus. It also helped me build confidence to have conversations with my Chindian friends. Overall, the journey has been meaningful, motivating, and I’m grateful for the opportunity. Thank you so much to Izzati Laoshi for encouraging me to join KMC, clearly supporting me in class, and being so helpful to new students. Her classes are fun and engaging. I really enjoyed the systematic learning with Ain Laoshi’s clear teaching methods. The role-playing activities, like acting as a seller, made learning fun and practical. I’ve even started to enjoy Mandarin songs! Although learning Mandarin can be challenging, it’s definitely worth it. Thank you, Ain Laoshi, for understanding my tight schedule and being patient when I was almost late with my gongke.

I love how Ain lǎoshī handles the class in a fun and structured way, with a clear voice, always smiling, friendly, and using simple sentences that are easy to understand. Memorising the Self Introduction assignment helped me remember the dialogue and speak confidently in front of others. I can now say a few sentences in Mandarin and understand a bit when people speak it. The class is fun and challenging, and for the next level, I’ll definitely enroll in Ain lǎoshī’s class again because of the happy and friendly environment and her excellent Mandarin skills.

Cloris Laoshi’s teaching is at a great pace, encouraging, fun, and interactive. Making new friends and learning something totally new made the class enjoyable. I like that Ain lǎoshī always entertains my questions outside class hours, even on her day off, and responds with great explanations. For homework, I interviewed Chinese friends in Mandarin, and I also understand more while watching Chinese dramas. I feel proud of myself, doing something meaningful as I’m retired. I like the way Ain lǎoshī communicates with students—she explains until we understand. Keep it up, laoshi. Love you!

Learning with Bunga Laoshi has been very fun. She engages with every student and patiently corrects our mistakes. My most vivid memory is struggling with tricky pronunciation in a practical dialogue. My tones were all over the place, but Minqi lǎoshī was patient and supportive, guiding us with passion. Learning Mandarin has enriched my daily life, helping me understand basic conversations, enjoy Mandarin songs, and giving me a reason to travel to China to practice. What impressed me most during my Mandarin class with Ika Laoshi were her well-paced lessons, step-by-step guidance, and patience in teaching. One of my most memorable experiences was preparing for the role play assignment and performing it, along with the funny mistakes I made throughout the classes. Learning Mandarin has helped me understand simple conversations better as I’m able to catch some vocabulary and get the gist of what is being said. It also indirectly helps me build better relationships with my clients, as they can see my effort and become more open with me, especially the uncles and aunties. Although it has been challenging, I’m proud of my progress as I can now hold simple conversations and understand basic Mandarin. To Ika Laoshi, thank you so much for teaching me and for always being patient, especially when I reach out with questions — I’ve truly learned a lot and had so much fun in your class.

I love how fun she is when teaching, and how she explains things so well with great enthusiasm. One of my most memorable experiences was taking the HSK exam for the first time and feeling so nervous, but everyone was very welcoming and never made fun of mistakes.
