I really enjoyed the systematic learning with Ain Laoshi’s clear teaching methods. The role-playing activities, like acting as a seller, made learning fun and practical. I’ve even started to enjoy Mandarin songs! Although learning Mandarin can be challenging, it’s definitely worth it. Thank you, Ain Laoshi, for understanding my tight schedule and being patient when I was almost late with my gongke.

Initially, I didn’t know what to expect, and thought online classrooms might feel quiet, but thanks to friendly Ika lǎoshī, we quickly opened up. The teaching pace was just right, and we had so much fun in the bargaining role-play. Even when I forgot a line, I could improvise, and Ika lǎoshī was patient and supportive. I can understand simple conversations if spoken slowly, and I hope to keep improving, maybe by watching Chinese dramas or taking the HSK 1 exam. Learning Mandarin can be difficult, especially online, but Ika lǎoshī makes it fun and encourages us to enjoy the process despite pronunciation or grammar mistakes. Our Mandarin class is full of energy and interaction, making learning both fun and effective. Bunga lǎoshī is very supportive and creates a comfortable environment where everyone feels confident to speak and make mistakes. One interesting memory was when we played a vocabulary game in class. Everyone became super competitive, and the classroom was full of laughter, making recalling new words exciting and easier. Learning Mandarin has helped me understand simple conversations, communicate better with friends, and enjoy Chinese dramas and songs more. Overall, learning Mandarin has been challenging but rewarding, and I feel proud of my progress and motivated to keep learning. Thank you, Bunga lǎoshī, for being so patient, kind, and supportive throughout our lessons. You always make class fun and interesting, and I hope to keep improving my Mandarin with the confidence you’ve helped me build.

I love how the module is arranged at a pace I can follow. Even with a busy work week, I can slot in this once-a-week 2-hour class, which makes me very happy. My first assignment with a native Mandarin speaker in Level A was memorable. I asked a colleague to be my partner, and she said my pronunciation was surprisingly good! I’m still a beginner and cannot speak or understand Mandarin fully yet, but I believe I’ll be able to once I complete the course. Learning Mandarin has opened me up to a new world and made me appreciate why Chinese speakers sometimes make mistakes in Malay. I now feel encouraged to make mistakes in Mandarin too as part of learning. Thank you, Ika lǎoshī, for being very supportive, keeping the class fun and engaging, and being a role model for me to become a good Mandarin speaker.

I really had fun learning Mandarin with Agnes Laoshi, even though it was a new environment for me. One of my favourite moments was reading the text in the notes with other students. I can now speak a little bit of Mandarin with my Chinese classmates. Learning Mandarin has been challenging, especially with tones, but now I’m able to say them correctly. I love how Ain lǎoshī handles the class in a fun and structured way, with a clear voice, always smiling, friendly, and using simple sentences that are easy to understand. Memorising the Self Introduction assignment helped me remember the dialogue and speak confidently in front of others. I can now say a few sentences in Mandarin and understand a bit when people speak it. The class is fun and challenging, and for the next level, I’ll definitely enroll in Ain lǎoshī’s class again because of the happy and friendly environment and her excellent Mandarin skills.

Bunga Laoshi is very patient and always engages with every student in class. The syllabus is full of useful information, and it really helps to practice through homework. Learning Mandarin has been helpful for me as I can now understand my work colleagues when they speak simple sentences. One of the challenges is finding someone to practice with, so I usually plan earlier with my partner, and I feel more confident taking exams when I’m well prepared. I can understand simple questions and replies, and I also make an effort to improve my listening skills by following Mandarin content and listening to Chinese songs to learn pronunciation. As I progress through the levels, I feel a strong sense of achievement, even though it gets more challenging and requires more effort and focus. I’m also thankful to be learning at Kunkwan because of the rich resources and fun events they organise. Bunga Laoshi always encourages participation and is very supportive of everyone’s effort, and I truly hope she continues to teach more students as she is knowledgeable and relatable.

Cloris Laoshi’s teaching is at a great pace, encouraging, fun, and interactive. Making new friends and learning something totally new made the class enjoyable. I can now understand customers better, build rapport with Chinese clients, and gain more trust and prospects. I regret not joining earlier! Thank you, Cloris Laoshi, for your dedication. The class with Agnes Laoshi was interactive and fun, with a friendly, supportive, and funny laoshi 🙂 It was my first time learning Mandarin in a group setting, and I really enjoyed it. I can now understand simple conversations and even talk with Mandarin-speaking friends. Friendly and supportive laoshi made learning enjoyable. I tried to shuo Hanyu yiqi chongwen ren, and it helped me gain confidence. Learning Mandarin has also helped me in getting a new job. I feel motivated to continue learning, and wo hen gaoxing xuexi Hanyu!

I knew nothing about Mandarin at first, and I realized self-learning wasn’t enough. I needed a proper platform, which is how I found Kunkwan. I got to meet new friends from various backgrounds and laoshi who are very helpful and supportive. Learning Mandarin at Kunkwan is really fun. One of my most interesting experiences was an assignment that required speaking with a Chinese friend. I felt shy at first, afraid of making mistakes in pronunciation, but my friends were very helpful, correcting me like native speakers and teaching me new vocabulary useful for real-life conversations. I think Mandarin is very important, as China and Malaysia are trading partners, so learning it helps me understand conversations better in both business and personal contexts. It also helps me enjoy my favourite Mandarin songs more easily. I feel grateful to be part of the Kunkwan community and always look forward to the next class. Agnes Laoshi really recognizes students’ improvement in pronunciation and values our effort in class. She is very supportive, makes the lessons interactive, and always encourages participation. I enjoyed taking part in dialogues during class, and she patiently corrected our pronunciation, especially with Hanyu Pinyin, which helped me realize that Mandarin is a very straightforward language. After learning with her, I’m able to understand basic conversations in Mandarin, even though I’m not fluent yet. I really enjoyed my Mandarin classes with Bunga Laoshi because of the interactive and fun learning environment. She was very kind, supportive, and made efforts to accommodate all her students, definitely the wow factors for me.
